About Institution
Shri
Shivaji College of Physical Education was established in 1974-75 and is run by
well known Shri Shivaji Education Society, Amravati founded by Dr. Panjabrao
Deshmukh. The college is affiliated to Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University,
Amravati (M.S.) India and is located in the heart of Amravati city. The college
have two storied building, a huge play ground, Boy's and girl's hostels and
ample resources required for Physical Education Programme. Principal and the
staff of college always take initiatives to conduct various activites and exert
for the betterment of student's mental and physical performance. All of the
Programme are getting overwhelming response from every nook and corner of the
district and nation.555
Shri Shivaji College of Physical Education Library is established in 1975, library is a separate building now the college has a well equipped and specious library having e-resources related to physical education and supportive subjects. Total carpet area of library is 1292 Sq.Ft. Stack Room 572 Sq.Ft and two reading room 1 reading room is 310 Sq.Ft. and 2nd is 310 Sq.Ft. and issue counter is 100 Sq.Ft. The library resource divided into reference section separate reading room having reference books (such as Encyclopedia, Dictionaries, Directories, Gazetteers, Report, Manuals, Maps, Competitions Books and Selected Text Books as a Library Copies) Periodical Back Volumes, News Paper Clipping Files, Dissertations, CDs/ DVD with Separate, Seating arrangement of reading tables for staff & Students , Reference Room, Circulation Section, Space for OPAC, News Paper Redding Section, Staff Reading Section.
The library rendered various user friendly services like Reference Service, Bibliographical Services, Inter Library Loan, Book Bank Scheme, etc. The College Library gave "Open Access" to all users for access library Resources in Reference as well as Circulation Section. The Library Started Best Practices to provide effective Library Services like Question paper of Previous University Examinations, Syllabus, New Arrivals are displayed, Best Library user Award is given to student from all three faculty every year. etc.
